Hans Damm founded the company on 2 January 1972. In the initial phase, six employees produced, amongst other things, test and transport frames for car radios. In the first few years, the companies VDO (now known as Continental), GRUNDIG, Blaupunkt and PFAFF were some of ELMAKO’s most important customers and partners.
After a few years, ELMAKO was almost bursting at the seams due to the high volume of incoming orders. The production site in Baden-Baden became too small. ELMAKO needed more space.
A 500 square metre production hall and 175 square metres of office space were built for the then 25 employees. However, just five years later, the excavators were already at work again and the site was extended to include an additional 500 square metres of production space.
True to the motto, “think big”, in January 1990, Hans Damm decided to build a 2000 square metre production hall and a 1,200 square metre office complex.
Today, 75 employees work in production and administration on the large company site that covers an area of more than 12,000 square metres in the Iffezheim industrial area.
ELMAKO continues to invest in efficient, state-of-the-art machinery. Our company has the expertise to support customers with intelligent, customised solutions.
At 75%, there is an above-average number of women in managerial positions. Thanks to its underlying quality philosophy, a long-standing, solid customer base and its innovative strength, ELMAKO is in an optimum position for the future.
